Spot on man! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-wiens/let-me-be-the-one-who-says-it-out-loud_b_3209305.html
I like the part where he says you happen to hide in the pantry and eat. I can relate to that. Who wants to always have to share my good stuff with my kids! Because the minute I start snacking on something they always say "Daddy, I want to try some". Ummmm no, this is mine! :) So off I go to hide and eat.
And the Steve Jobs kid is soooo Kaylee sometimes. Everything has to be just so, and if not, we'll hear about it.
But hey, love those two little kids of mine

6-months old!
Makenna turned 6-months old on us in a blink of an eye. Her checkup showed that she only gained 11 oz from her 4-month checkup (yikes), so back we go in 6 weeks to check progress. Her length is good at 26" (50%) but her weight is around 15 percentile (12.11 oz). So one extra serving of cereal during the day will hopefully do the trick. Kelly was only 16 lbs at 1 year, so we'll just blame heredity.
Makenna has been battling a virus the past few days. Had a fever on Sunday, it died down at her Monday morning checkup so they decided to go ahead with her 6-month shots, but then it spiked shortly after, of course the shots didn't help matters. So she has been home from daycare all week. It was a nice few days off for me so I can't complain, :) We think she is finally getting over the virus and should be good to go back to daycare on Thursday. Poor little thing! And a big thanks to the Grandma's for helping out on one of the days!!
On a happier note, I grabbed the high chair out of storage today and used it for the first time with Makenna. She absolutely loved it, and it sure was easier to feed her.

Before the mess...
Long view of her. Thought it was funny to see how tiny she looks in it...
Yummy!

Our new swingset!
We managed to put together our new swingset this weekend! What a pain in the royal arse but it looks good and Kaylee loves it. I'm never going to put one of those together again! And to think this is considered a small one. A few millions pieces and 12 hours to complete with a few cuss words, but I guess well worth it, right? :)
And a big thanks to my Dad for all his time helping me with this project!!
One of Kaylee's first things she wanted to do was push Makenna in the baby swing. Makenna looks real comfortable...
Bath time for Makenna...
And some yummy peas for lunch...
Oh and Makenna turned 6 months old today! We almost forgot. Such a little peanut who just loves to smile and laugh at her sister. We'll get to see how much she has grown tomorrow at her checkup.

Randoms...
Just a few recent pics. It's been great weather the past few days, so we haven't even thought about taking pictures outside, duh. Too busy playing I guess! :) Everybody has been doing great and we are looking forward to Spring finally being here. Playset has been ordered, although I am not looking forward to putting it together but it will outweigh the "Daddy, I want to go to the park" every weekend day.
Oh no, matching shirts!!
My little sweetie! She was wore out at this point if you couldn't tell. Fresh air will do that to a baby!
We have come to the conclusion that Makenna looks much more like Kelly than myself. I actually don't see much of anything in Makenna that resembles me. Kelly says her nose. She is very petite, has Kelly's smaller head and definetly her eyes and ears. It's funny because everyone said Kaylee was Kelly's mini-me, yet Kaylee and Makenna look nothing alike. We always thought Kaylee had more of my features than Kelly, I guess we were right! :)
And lastly, our kitchen makeover is finally complete! Here are a few before and after pics...
This was a shot of before the purchase of our house. Gotta love the mix and match color of the appliances.
We ended up doing a new countertop, sink/faucet, appliances, and tile backsplash...
We're glad it's finished, and although we wish we would have done a different glass inlay, not much we can do about it now! Now onto painting, fun!
